PLACES TO SEE - AMOCHOSTOS-AYIA NAPA

AGIA NAPA, once a small fishing village, boasts a superb Venetian decorated monastery with central octagonal fountain. It lends character and substance to a village that's better knoun to holidaymakers for its colorful shops, tavernas, discos and bars. A small Marine Life Museum presents exhibits of past and present marine fauna. The focal point of the resort is the small harbour, where the tavernas specialise in fresh fish harvested by the colorful fishing vessels.

PARALIMNI

With the Turkish military occupation of Famagusta in 1974, this small town of 6,000 inhabitants, is now the main administrative town of the district. The twin aisled vaulted church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary is decorated with unusual 1 8th century porcelain plates. Parts of the church belong to the 13th century. Some other interesting churches can also be found in the area.
